Hello, I’m Dina Dimitriou, the heart and soul behind Greek Food Alchemist.
I was born and raised on the sun-kissed island of Cyprus, where the scent of freshly baked bread, wild herbs, and slow-cooked meals filled every corner of home life.
Food was never just about eating — it was about gathering, sharing, and connecting. Those early memories shaped the way I see the world and the way I cook today.

At twenty, I left my island home to explore the world — living in the UK, UAE, and France over the past two decades.
During those years away, I often found myself longing for the comforting dishes I grew up with — the taste of warm pita fresh from the oven, the tang of homemade tzatziki, the simplicity of lentil soup simmering on the stove.
Many of those foods were impossible to find, so I began recreating them in my own kitchen, experimenting, adapting, and learning everything I now share here on Greek Food Alchemist.
My husband is from the beautiful Peloponnese, and together we’re raising two wonderful daughters — Nektaria and Georgia — who inspire me every day to keep our traditions alive.
Cooking for them, and with them, is how I pass on the flavors, stories, and values that connect us to our roots.
Beyond my love for food, I’m also a psychologist, deeply interested in how cooking and sharing meals nourish not just the body but also the mind and soul.
To me, food is a form of self-expression, healing, and connection — a bridge between generations and cultures.

Welcome to my food blog and thank you for being here!
